Don’t you think, whenever it comes to conveying a good message, a majority of the time they are communicated as commands? Take these for examples: “Eat Right”, “Go Green”, “Don’t smoke” and so on. I personally don’t like commanding anyone. It’s so negative. How can you wish to have a positive outcome with the first step being a restriction? Thus, when I want to spread a message, I do not want it to be an order. I don’t like listening to regulations so why would and should anyone want to abide to what I ask.
Art being my favourite language, I started spreading my message across by sharing the consequences of our wrong actions. This work shows that the water is not reaching where it is supposed to reach. Which means it is getting wasted. The consequence is that the needy, here the plant, is facing the downside, here dying.
The art medium is street art as streets are the best place to spread a message to the masses. The style is minimalism. The whole series of work has line drawings in black with one relevant colour. I am repeating this work at many places because when we see something frequently, we tend to keep it in our minds. And maybe, hopefully, someday someone would realize how important it is to use water as a limited resource.
