Scared? Terrified? Well, that’s not enough. Horror movies haunt me. They make me so afraid that any kind of ghostly discussion makes every head turn towards me. To get rid of this fear, I researched on FX MAKE-UP and tried it on my friends. After the first trial, my fear reduced to a great extent. For nights and days, I pondered over this change and realized that we wear our fears like clothes: we keep adding more layers to it. The ones we are conscious about are hidden beneath the ones we don’t mind showing to the world. People around us can see and feel those fears that are on the outside, judging us on the basis of them.

Some relate to our fears, some make fun and some might even use them against us. Just like clothes, we don’t choose every fear we own: people we know and people dear to us gift us some fears, while we gain some from our surroundings. Be it the insecurity an adult was gifted with by his parents when they were too harsh on him as a child or the gift of trust issues from that childhood friend who left without a goodbye. This brings us to a very important aspect of the development of fears: only traumatic experiences give birth to certain fears in our adulthood, while the rest of our fears are associated with our childhood. It is really important for people to become aware and understand the impressionable characteristic of children. It makes my heart cringe to see the neglected state of parenting. Even one fake promise about a mundane thing can have a long-term effect. Don’t we all have kids around us? Aren’t we all educated? Can’t we study a little about child psychology or human development to know how to treat a child? Isn’t it possible for YOU to prevent that one bad experience of a child so that it never turns into a lifelong fear affecting him and his world?

After reading this, do have a look in the mirror and see for yourself if the fears you wear are worth carrying around? I am leaving mine here.
