Shy by nature, Rahul and Rajeev were getting ready to attend their first class after they changed their school. The first day is always the toughest and so was the case here when these twins with their hair well oiled and crisp white uniforms made them stand out of the crowd. Scanning the empty benches and failing to find one they sat with Pramod, the popular kid of the class. Pramod later introduced Rahul and Rajeev to the whole class and was soon their good friend.
Half way into that year they had befriended the whole class and were a known name among girls. Rahul and Rajeev were quite reserved when it came to girls till one day when Rahul , unknowingly had clipped a page of the answer book of Payal sitting beside him and it took no time for her to deliver a punch on Rahul’s back.
With a sorry face Rahul and Rajeev came home. Rotation policy in seating made sure everybody in the class knew everyone and on one fine day Payal forgot to bring the pen.
Rahul was about to start taking notes when Payal goaded from behind asking for an extra pen. And that is where it all started.
Rakhi season was around and couple of days before the vacations started Payal had brought two Rakhis for Rahul and Rajeev. Hesitant in the beginning but both agreed later. This became a trend which continued even after their school got over and they got admitted to different colleges but Payal made sure she sent to whichever place her brothers were.
Rahul had just returned from his work as Rajeev called to inform that Payal is getting married. All the memories from school flashed when they received the wedding card of the girl who continually forgot to bring a pen to the class and waited for them to come with one. “Be here a week before. We have a lot to catch up” read Payal’s text. Rahul had asked the room service to get his shirt ironed when he went for shower. ‘One All’ read the note placed in front of a burnt white crisp shirt with a punch smiley.
