Born and brought up in the orange city Nagpur, she is Maria Shakir, 21, currently a final year student of Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bengaluru. Her Interest lies in Photography and Conceptual Art. Her camera is something that she deeply connects with. Over the due course of time she has developed the ability to transform ideas in her mind, to images through her camera. Conceptual Art is something she explores with people and objects around her. It interests her to go deep and study, perspective and learn more from them. It was a prerogative to intern under one of the best film directors of India in todays date, Mr. Rajkumar Hirani for her summer vacations in 2015. Interning there has not only taught her about professionalism but the exposure she got, wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else and also got a platform to value her work and be true to it. She was the first exchange student whose work got exhibited in a Juried Exhibition at University of Michigan in 2016 while she was on an exchange program from her college.
Her work speaks about themes based on life. Her forte lies in Coffee paintings, Illustrations (pen and ink) and Portrait Painting.
