On 24th February 2019, the underground hip-hop artists were surprised to say the least. The artists were looking at eighty hardcore hip-hop fans who had bought tickets and showed up at Bouffage Cafe’ & Bistro to watch the artists perform their originals music.

The audience enjoyed the fierce dance battles between Dance It Out & Alchemy, the foot tapping beatboxing skills of Jerry, Aman & Abhijeet and the ingenious raps of CryGene & N.A.R.C (Nagpur Artists of Rap Community). There were a few open spots for the audience to come and perform on stage which were a hit with the ever-interactive crowd.

On being asked how the idea of Hip-Hop Mixtape came about, Naman Agnihotri, Founder of Unheard said, “So before hip-hop mixtape, we had done two events of Unheard Originals and those events had individually received a cute audience of thirty to thirty five people. Then we decided to try a genre based event with the same thought of original music. Gully Boy had released around that time,so we knew that there was an appetite for consumption of hip-hop in general. But this definitely wouldn’t have been possible without Bouffage. They have been very supportive of the event and have backed us, we’ll always be grateful to them.”

“The backbone of the event are Thinkin’Culture and the volunteers. Thinkin’Culture helped a lot with the creatives that went out and the social media marketing. Then the volunteers took over with the on ground sales. With this kind of team backing us, I’m pretty sure we’re gonna rock the next event.” says Shubham Virgandham, co-founder at Unheard as he signs of with a subtle hint about the next event.
